PROFILE : Mr. Buyaaya Patrick: Joined Makerere University Kampala to attain a Bachelor of .Commerce Degree in Commerce, a Diploma in Business Studies from Nakawa College of Commerce and an MA in Public Administration and Management, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Project Planning and Management. Monitoring and Evaluation; worked with International Rescue Committee – Sudan, Save the Children (USA) in areas of Luwero, Nakasongola and Nakaseke. European Union on smallholder tea development program in Kayonza, Igara, Mabale and Mpanga tea factories under AGRIMAG (agro-industrial management project). A Senior Consultant and head of Programs at- Divine Dimensions Limited (DDL). Have been involved in participatory strategic planning, Business development, training, people development, Program and Project Design and Management, Business development, Program and Project Monitoring and Evaluation, working in diverse and complex environment.
PEASONAL INFO: A result oriented professional with strong NGO sector experience having worked with AGRIMAG (Agro-Industrial Management Agency) European Union Funded smallholder tea development project, Audit experience for four years with Kobel and Company certified accountants as senior Auditor and administrator. Results oriented with international donors, Save the Children (USA) while under the auspices of food security, livelihood programme and HIV sensitization and awareness programmes in the areas of Luwero, Nakasongola Nakaseke and Padel districts.
Having hands on experience with donors and projects, functional management skills in project writing and implementation with government agriculture projects under the Ministry of Agriculture having written the Kanungu tea project, Rwampara tea project and Ntungamo tea project with Divine Dimensions Limited a Consultancy firm in agriculture improvement to enhance household incomes and value addition.
I have acquired vast experience and skills in the Agriculture sector which is my current area of occupation. However my profession am an accountant holding a Bachelors degree and a Diploma in Business studies.
The skills, experiences and capabilities acquired over time in agriculture sector are practical and have been tested to bring results. But always been
limited by right partners and funding, therefore if it is solved the projected output can be amazing.
Am a honest gentleman who is family oriented, married with a wife and four children. I always keep my word whether in business or work related aspects which has made me a principled person as people refer me like that.
I have done a lot of research on tea in East Africa and the world over, and tea is the only agricultural product that has never been enough on the world market and whose price has never gone down because of its scarcity. With good quality tea you don’t look for the market, the market looks for you because 80% of world population consume tea whether poor or rich.
Tea plantation is the only crop with the highest life span with the oldest tea plant in China and India over 160 years. Once tea is planted you only need fertilizers and a factory to process it.
